Emily Hromada's Blog - Minor! Business

Emily Hromada here, bringing you this blog for your viewing pleasure. I have chosen my erasing technique as my representative drawing.

My intent is to explore different regions of drawing, and try to learn how to express myself through my art.
I am inspired by all the interactions that I see around me. And how people are effected by them.

Enjoy my Minor! Business.

Ashley Castillo

My name is Ashley Castillo and I am a 2/5 Sophomore double majoring in Art & Technology and Environmental Engineering.  At first I came into Stevens as an Art and Technology major, but after second semester of Freshman year, I decided that I wanted a more challenging course load.  I have been studying art since my junior year in high school.  More importantly, my grandmother introduced art and drawing to me when I was very young.  I believe she inspired me to become the artist that I am today and wish to be in the future.  I enjoy drawing still lifes and people; basically anything where I can capture a lot of detail.  I hope to improve on my skills of portraying the human figure in motion in this course.

Tim Quintanilla

Hi, I am Timothy Lancelot Quintanilla. I have always had an active imagination and loved drawing. I fell out of it several years ago but with this class, I seek to reignite my passion for expressing my creativity through drawing. I am aiming to improve my drawing skills in detail and proportions. Through this and the study of anatomy, I hope to use this to create my own characters and creations.

Dinosaurs with Rocketships, The Willyboolean [Other Adjective]

http://albinosaurus.blogspot.com

I'm Willy Abeel. I'm a senior, juggling Comp Sci, ArtTech, internships, and a slew of personal projects. I like the color orange. Sheep are cool but honestly kind of horrifying to look at in real life.

I'm looking to improve my personal style with more real life drawing. I also hope to get faster at drawing, and maybe figure out how to do more besides character portraits.

Jessie Huff

My name is Jessie Huff and I am currently a sophomore at Stevens. I was a biomedical engineering major as a freshman, but this year I switched to art & technology. Perhaps I will minor in chemical biology or double major in Art and Psychology. I play softball and run track. I played soccer last year but I took this year off. I love to fish and eat good food in my free time. I enjoy poetry. My favorite shows are the OC, Big Cat Diary, and tom and Jerry. My favorite movies are the Fighter, Warrior, and the Blind Side. I plan on using art as a side job, perhaps in art therapy, and for my own leisure and creativity. I am looking forward to studying nutrition and kinesiology and eventually plan on getting a degree in physical education teaching and becoming a coach. In this class, I plan on cultivating my artistic ability and learning from renowned artists and studying their work. Famous athletes like artistic gymnast Shawn Johnson keep me motivated to maintain both a solid athletic-academic-art based lifestyle. Many musicians are also inspiring to me. My blog has some sketches from my Figurative Drawing class and some photographs that I took, but in the next few weeks I will be updating it with more of my works that are at home, and some that haven't been created yet.

Capturing Myself- Wannabe Da Vinci

http://defeatdefeat89.blogspot.com/

Hi my name is Tina Singh and I am currently pursuing a master's and bachelor's degree from Stevens Tech in environmental engineering with a focus on wastewater treatment and plant design, groundwater hydrology and water quality sampling and analysis. I am taking this figurative drawing class because it adds some relief from the fast-paced hectic, constantly-keeping-up-with-the-schedule days this semester. Furthermore, as a child until the end of highschool I used to do a lot of drawing and some painting and I am happy I had the opportunity to take this class to revive my artistic side during my last year here at Stevens. The link to my artwork from this figurative drawing class is right above this little blurb! Thanks for reading! =cD

Diane Bruzzese

Hi, my name is Diane. I am a junior Art and Technology major with a minor in Psychology. I want to go into computer animation and hopefully work for Disney/Pixar one day. I'm currently working as an assistant to the artists Karin Batten and Anita Thacher.  I like taking classes in almost all forms of art, but I feel figurative drawing will definitely become useful later on with animation.

My blog can be accessed here:

Andrew Ricks

I'm Andrew Ricks, a junior at Stevens Tech., currently I am just a Naval Engineering and Architecture student, with possible minors in Math and Art Tech. One day I hope to design racing and luxury yachts, the water and the arts have been the to major loves throughout my life.

I've had a classical art education through primary, middle, and high school; have created two exhibitions and have had my work shown in local (Arlington, VA) art museums and shows. My favorite mediums for 2D are are pencil and oil paints. I also enjoy sculpture primarily working with metal, stone, and plaster.

Palmer

I am Stephen Palmer, but I go by palmer. I like to design and use computers to invent, hence my major. I am an Art Tech, and I am transferring to the California College of Arts at the end of this year. I will receive my major in Industrial Design and start my career as an Industrial Designer on the west coast.

Rita Jackson

I'm Rita and I'm a sophomore Art and Technology major. Art has always been a passion and pursuing it as a career is very exciting. I am also very interested in computer programming, although this is a very recent development in my interests. I am considering a second major in Computer Science. In the future, I hope to have a career in 3-D animation. However, I still love to sketch, draw, and doodle. I find giraffes to be very funny creatures and they are very often the subject of a little cartoon character that I find myself drawing.

This blog contains many of the sketches done in drawing class as well as a few others: favorites from old sketchbooks and some done on my own time.

Sean Kelley

I’m Sean, and I am a Sophomore here at Stevens, but this is only my second semester here, as I transferred in last spring.  I am currently an Art and Technology major and will also be pursuing a Marketing minor.  After Stevens, I plan on either getting my Master’s in Architecture or in Sports Business.  One day I would like to be able to be as much of an inspirational architect as Frank Lloyd Wright once was, or be able to work for a professional sports organization.  In this blog you will find many of my sketches that I have done for Drawing class this semester, and possibly some other pieces that I have worked on, as well as the works of others that have influenced me in some way or another.

Alexis Clyburn

Alexis is a double major, both in Computer Engineering and Art and Technology. This is her fifth year, and is expected to graduate at the end of the Spring semester. With her education, she hopes to contribute to the artistic and technological community, and to further display how art and technology contributes to the similarities between engineering and art. Her goals are to further enhance her skills in drawing, and artisan crafts, and understanding 2D and 3D forms. This will help in the pursuit of a career which involves 3D character and landscape design, using tools such as Maya and Photoshop.

You can reach her blog here: http://elvynne.tumblr.com/
There, you can find works from both classes: 3D Form and Design and Drawing: Figurative.

Frank DiCola

Frank is an Art Major in his second year at Stevens. This is his second college level drawing course. In it, he hopes to perfect his vision of the human form, specifically as it applies to fantasy creatures and anthropomorphous animals. His goal is to get better at designing characters through drawing, in order to use them for reference pictures during the modeling and animation process. He hopes to one day create his own company to produce the art form he enjoys the most - video games. In his blog, you will find a wide variety of pencil sketches, photoshopped color versions, and original animations in both After Effects and Maya.
